The cottage

Romany Cottage is situated in a quiet residential area, near to Freshwater on the western side of the Isle of Wight being only 10 mins walk to the award winning beach at Colwell Bay. This charming cottage, is centrally heated, which sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms ( 2 double and one twin bedded) and has been maintained to a high standard from when the cottage was completely renovated in 2010. The cottage is well furnished with great care, to provide well equipped accommodation, each room with attractive double glazed leaded light windows.

All the main living rooms are on the ground floor. The kitchen, lounge and adjoining dining area all are south west facing, with each having a set of double French doors opening out onto the large patio and overlooking the garden at every aspect, offering a pleasant open feel of light and space. There are attractive natural wooden floors throughout the cottage with rugs, an open fire and wood burning stove in the lounge/dining areas offering a cosy atmosphere on wintery days.

In the lounge there is a large corner leather sofa and arm chair, the TV offers Freeview with an integrated DVD player. In the dining area there is a dining table and chairs for six. The well equipped kitchen is spacious, offering a charming corner breakfast area offering more seating for six. The kitchen has an electric fan oven, gas hob and extractor, microwave, fridge with ice box and a dishwasher. A freezer and washing machine are in a utility room external to the kitchen. Downstairs there is a useful cloakroom with wc and basin and a lobby area for hanging coats and a place to remove boots and shoes. Upstairs there are three pretty bedrooms, also all overlooking the garden and all have thick piled rugs on wooden floors. A modern stylish bathroom offers a luxury deep bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c.

Romany has a charming enclosed sunny aspect garden, facing south west and provides a lovely calm place to relax around the heart shaped sunken garden, which is the garden’s central feature. Visitors can stroll around the garden and enjoy relaxing on seats in various parts of the garden. Garden patio furniture for six is provided on the garden's spacious patio, so that meals can be enjoyed outside. The cottage is approached via a fairly long drive, which is 8 ft wide at its most narrow. Three cars can be parked in the drive or you can park in the quiet residential road, no restrictions.

There is a garage where small boats and bicycles can be stored and can also be used as a turning point for cars if required. The utility room, with an external entrance, is ideal for airing clothing offering a sink, as well as usual utility items.

A regular bus service to explore the island, is within 5 minutes walk. Within 10 mins you could be at the award winning Colwell Bay beach or Totland Bay taking a few minutes longer where you could be having a meal right by the sea with The Needles in sight. Freshwater Bay is a 10 min drive away and offers a lovely walk to it from Romany. Freshwater is the main town in the attractive West Wight and is 10 mins walk away, offering Sainbury's and Co-op supermarkets, bakers, butchers to name a few, bank, post office, library, swimming pool and gym.

Romany Cottage is available for weekly holiday bookings from Friday 4pm to Friday 10am. Please note that this property is let to non smoking adults only. Children 12 years + are welcome. Sorry no pets allowed. All heating, electricity and bed linen included in renting this cottage as well as free wifi. Bath towel packs can provided for a small extra charge.
